In Spring 2007 Oxford City Council, Oxford Dance Forum, Oxford Playhouse, and Pegasus Theatre launched the first ever major Dance Festival for Oxford and the region – Dancin' Oxford 2007.

Building on the city's growing reputation for vibrant, high-quality dance and choreography, DANCIN' OXFORD 2008 will offer four weeks of inspiring dance activity for anyone, from the keen enthusiast to those completely new to dance. It will provide an opportunity for participants to actively engage in high quality dance, through an exciting programme of participatory activity and a performance programme featuring leading local, national and international dance artists. It will also profile the work of Oxford-based youth and community dance groups.
A host of participatory dance activities will include the ever popular weekend 'Dance-A-Thon', an opportunity to try out as many styles as possible over two fun-packed days of taster dance workshops.
A Festival Pass will soon be available, encouraging customers to attend a range of events and offering significant ticket and workshop discounts and regular updates and insight into the Festival. The Festival will also offer a series of talks by leading figures in the field of dance.
